Apples!
On Friday we went on a family outing to a fruit ranch down by Lewiston. We came home loaded with fresh pressed apple cider and a big box of apples, which, by the way, are being turned into apple butter as we speak. It smells delicious!

Lovely Landscapes
A view of Lewiston/Clarkston from the old Lewiston grade
It was a beautiful view, but the road was a bit too windy for my taste!

The sunrise out of our front door is gorgeous every morning. It's funny, but about two or three months ago I was trying to tell Dirk that Moscow doesn't have as good of sunrises or sunsets as Boise, and he said it was all the hills here blocking the view. I disagreed for some reason, but now I know he's right, because from the top of the hill where we are now, the sun rises and sets in splendor.

Tweedehands Treasures (Dutch for second hand)
I've been keeping my eye out for a dresser for Arie's bedroom---so far he's been living out of plastic containers. We found this dresser at a yard sale in Moscow for $15. Not bad! And all the fabric on it is a sampling of LOADS of free fabric I brought home from a lady who didn't want it. The red fabric is a whole bolt!

Dirk liked this old lawn mower (emphasis on old) and we figured it'd help keep some of the weeds down right by the house. I think he likes it.

Dirk also found a really nifty beer stein, but I don't have a picture of that. :(
Things made

This, along with some more just like it, ( which I got the idea for from somebody at church) I made for a friend's baby boy.

This is an oversized baby bag I made for our upcoming trip to North Carolina. Arie and I are going without Dirk, and so I needed as big a carry-on as possible for all the toys, diapers and snacks we'll have.
Arie's Early Birthday with Gideon
Arie's cousin Gideon visited Moscow for the first time (with his parents of course) and Arie couldn't get enough of him. They got on great and poked curiously at each other. Ever since, Arie has been fascinated by any 'baby', his word for anybody under 10.

Arie has already used the cozy hat and mittens on our walks. Thank you Tante Siska and Uncle Justin!
