The Jeep
We missed a important part of Arie's birthday in pictures. Arie thought the wrapping paper was the gift, and so he is still unaware of what a priviledged little soul he is. For his birthday he received a Jeep Liberty Renegade. Take a look.

Case
Case Albert
Case and Arie Christmas 2006
Several of you probably already know that Saturday, November 10, we got a call from Dirk's family that his brother Case died in his sleep. It was really a shock. We're spending time with his family right now, and the funeral yesterday was wonderful. Dirk and I, as well as his whole family, have so appreciated all the calls, prayers, food and support so many friends have provided to us all.
The last few days have been a sweet time of being together, remembering fun and dear stories about Case. He was such a dependable and fun part of this family and he will be missed so much. But not long before his death, Case wrote for his Sunday school class prayer list that he was
Thankful for: eternal life
and
Asking God for: no more seizures
And we know that Case is in heaven with his Saviour and that God has taken his seizures away. Life here on the dairy farm is very different, but as we move on, the many sweet memories we have of Case still bring smiles to our face.

October
Greetings everyone!
It's official. We've been parents for a year now!
Arie had a fabulous birthday. He had a chocolate cake, ripped wrapping paper, and got a haircut. Lots of fun. Blogspot is having technical difficulties with posting pictures right now, so for those of you who have been waiting for some birthday pictures, you can go to Dirk's facebook page and have a look (you have to sign on for facebook though).
Also, I know some of you have heard that Arie's eye surgery was going to happen soon, but good news! The opthamologist said that Arie's eye will probably not need surgery until he's at least 4, and until then we can continue patching his eye. We're thankful we don't have to do the surgery while he's so little!
Looking back a year makes me very thankful for where we are now. God has poured out his grace on us and has taken delight in heaping more blessings on us than we even thought to ask for. I sometimes sit back and wonder, "How did we get it so good?" I know it is all from God, and so much more than we deserve. Our life is good!
I hope blogspot will be up and working 100% soon so we can post pictures for you all.
